We're OBSESSED with creating the PERFECT dog food, continuously incorporating NEW food concepts based on ever evolving nutritional BREAKTHROUGHS in canine health. Our ingredients are sourced fresh at the local farmer's market, our food is SLOW COOKED in SMALL BATCHES every Sunday for Monday morning deliveries in all 5 boroughs, Long Island and New Jersey. (We also ship!). We do not use preservatives, so food lasts 5 days unless frozen.

WHO WE ARE

We make it EASY! Like the MILKMAN of days past, recycled jars are EXCHANGED with each new delivery. Barklyn Organics uses conscious and sustainable business practices to not only ensure the LONGEVITY of our animals, but also the FUTURE of our planet. (If you prefer not to recycle, or just like saving our glass jars, that's okay too. It will just cost you a small jar fee.

It all started when we welcomed a small dog into our home…

Picked up off the streets and brought to a rescue shelter, no one wanted to adopt the scrawny rat terrier mix. Her ears were cracked and fraying, her skin was red and itchy... suffering from so many health issues, the shelter decided to red list her, and left her to the side, next to be put down. When Dyana & Danielle saw the little shaking pup, their hearts melted. There was just something extra special about her. They decided to take her home and see if a little TLC could save her.

Being a chef, Danielle immediately wondered if there was something in Baci’s diet that could be causing her ailments. Invested in healthy cooking and armed with a degree in advanced canine nutrition (Cert.ACN), she decided to give this little dog some love in the kitchen.

“Everything I prepared for Baci was free range and locally sourced. I found the equivalents to human ‘superfoods’ and natural cancer fighters for dogs, only feeding her ingredients that I would eat myself,” said Danielle, Chef and Co-Founder.

Within a week, Baci’s ailments began to subside. By the end of the year, she was not only cured, she was a completely changed animal. Her coat was thick and shiny, she was no longer lethargic, and most importantly, she seemed happier. Baci had been allergic to multiple ingredients used as ‘fillers’ in commercial dog food, symptoms which they learned were quite common in dogs.

Witnessing Baci's miraculous recovery, our friends began seeking advice about their own dog's health concerns. Bosco was having skin allergies, Dodger was gassy, Telly was too young to be having joint pains… and the calls kept coming. Danielle recognized the need and headed back into the kitchen.

After consulting with veterinarians and animal nutritionists, it became clear that dogs, just like humans, can live longer, healthier lives when they eat clean, fresh and organic.

Thus began the birth of their company, Barklyn Organics.
